Services
‍
I develop and deliver communications for foundations, nonprofit organisations and businesses that want to explain complex subjects clearly and effectively.
‍

My work spans events and films, digital applications, campaigns and studies. The right tools depend on the task and its context.

As the main point of contact, I lead each project from the first idea to delivery, bringing together its editorial, creative and organisational strands. Depending on what is needed, I assemble the right team from my long-standing network and work with them to deliver the project.

For my clients, that means clear responsibilities, direct communication and much less coordination to worry about.

Throughout the process, I combine strategic thinking and commercial awareness with a strong feel for content and design. I analyse, structure and distil – while keeping the bigger picture in view. The result is work that is precise in its message, coherent in its design and focused on its purpose.

Good communication is rooted in mutual respect. It conveys values and identity, offers direction and stays with people. It should move people, build understanding and bring a little joy – while remaining credible and relevant.

I work by these principles, with empathy, commitment and a strong sense of responsibility.

Raphaël Rossel
‍

Born in Biel/Bienne, I grew up in two languages: German and French. Moving between them – and being surrounded by the city’s mix of cultures – shaped me early on and sparked my interest in communication as a way of bringing people together.
‍
In 1999, I graduated in communication and media studies from the University of Fribourg and started working as a writer at a film production company. I then moved to Milan, where I studied industrial design at IED until 2002.

I further developed my skills at the intersection of content and design at the Basel School of Art and Design (FHNW), graduating in 2005 with a degree in scenography and interior architecture.
‍
In 2008, I founded de-lay GmbH as the legal home for my work, bringing together my view of communication as a combination of concept development, communication and management.
‍
I have continued learning throughout my career, including a CAS in “Nonprofit Governance & Leadership” at the University of Basel (CEPS) in 2019.
‍
Outside work, what keeps me grounded is simple: cooking, spending time in the mountains and working with my hands. For many years, alongside my studies and further training, I also worked as a house painter – with the same pleasure in making things that still shapes my work in communication today.
